8th tooth and Rambo Circus

It fell on Friday as the boy was in front of the laptop watching the Rambo Circus online

Rambo Circus. I remember seeing my first circus when I was a child. I was in awe, especially the trapeze artists and the animals that could do tricks. No more animals now. The boy enjoyed the show, especially the clowns and the lady with the hoopla rings.

Happy Pongal!

And his top 2 molar teeth have come out. The boy is relieved. It was uncomfortable and he kept constantly opening and stretching his mouth.

Trip

We went on a 5 family trip to Bandipur and the presence of other children kept the boy busy. He accompanied us to 2 safaris - one was super cold and the other one rained out. Good number of sightings. He had an opportunity to use his binoculars and one of his lower tooth which was shaking, came off.

Tooth X-ray

The boy's top 2 teeth were not coming out. An x-ray showed that the gums were thick. The dentist recommend cutting but we chose to go with a second opinion.

Another one on top fell. 4 in total so far.

Back spasm

I am down with a bad case of back spasm. The boy runs to me asking me to lift him and play with him. It is frustrating to know I can’t. For 3 days, the wife had to drop him and pick him up from school. Thank god for her and that it is not a slip disc.

The boy has started brushing his teeth on his own. Standing on an inverted bucket, he can reach the wash basin. Spitting is a challenge though as he gulps down the paste and water!

The boy wanted sauce the first thing today morning. We gave it to him along with the methi chapatti and as usual, he licked only the sauce.

New shoes and sleepless nights

On the first day of this month, we bought the boy a pair of squeaky shoes. He put them on eagerly and the more he heard the squeaking, the more he enjoyed stomping. Although by the 3^rd day, the shoes seemed to have hurt his feet. At times he was crying holding his feet.

The last few nights have been nights of crying. Even with the biscuits and water, the boy had to be rocked to sleep. On 2 consecutive days, his diaper loosened, leaked and we had to change the sheets. Now he wears pants/pajamas over his diapers. On the bright side, he started climbing up the stairs on all fours. His teeth is growing and the list of incoherent words ends with ‘ga ga’.

The boy got his Diaper Pants from Pampers. We thought of giving it a shot. Putting them on is a pain. Diapers are better.

The boy seems to be growing teeth! For the past few days he has been very cranky, falls asleep after a lot of crying/rocking, rubs his ears (similar to a dog rubbing his ears) and has an upset stomach once in a while. He is nearing 6 months – checked his mouth and his gums were red and swollen. He had 2 small white dots at the bottom.
